A survey for young people on topics including smoking, health, exercise and food is set to open in October.

Statistics Jersey said the survey would be offered to students from year four to year 12.

It said results would be used to inform different areas of the government.

Chief statistician Ian Cope said it would "allow for a better understanding of life from the perspectives of children and young people".

'Help decision-making'

He said: "Their views will help decision-making for the services provided to children and support adequate provision in areas such as mental health, sport and exercise, and sexual health.

"We would again hope for very high response rates from children and young people so that their voice is heard."

Statistics Jersey said the survey would run between Monday 7 and Friday 18 October and responses were voluntary and anonymous.

It added that the last time the survey was carried out in 2021, it received an 85% response rate.
