Woman lying on ground dies after being hit by car

A 40-year-old woman who was lying on the ground in a lane in Glasgow has died after being hit and trapped under a car.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Wellington Lane in Glasgow city centre at about 14:40 on Tuesday.
Police Scotland said the woman had been dropped off by a vehicle in the lane just before the incident.
A post mortem examination will be carried out but police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.
More than a dozen police vehicles along with fire and ambulance crews had been sent to the scene.
Det Sgt Sean McLoughlin said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances around this incident.
"A family has lost a loved one and it's imperative we provide answers as to how that happened.
"If anyone has any information who has not yet spoken to us, please do get in touch, external."
Area commander Andy Kenna from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said: "We were alerted to reports of a person trapped under a vehicle on Wellington Lane. Sadly, one person passed away at the scene.
"Our thoughts are very much with their family, friends, and the wider community at this difficult time."
He confirmed a joint investigation had been launched with Police Scotland.
