Lorry gets stuck under low railway bridge

A road to a village had to be closed for more than an hour after a lorry got stuck under a railway bridge.

The lorry has now been released from the bridge at Long Buckby Wharf in Northamptonshire.

The structure was checked for damage before the road was reopened at around 17:25 BST.

There are no reports of any injuries.

The bridge takes the West Coast Mainline over Three Bridges Road, which links Long Buckby with the A5.

The road is the main link between the town of Daventry and the nearest railway station at Long Buckby.
