Second charge in connection with suspected murder

A second person has been charged in connection with a suspected murder in Kent.

The victim, who was in his 60s, was found dead inside a property in Gun Lane, Strood, at about 00:30 BST on 26 July.

Lee Robinson, of Frindsbury Road, Strood, has been charged with assisting an offender, theft, and fraud.

The 44-year-old appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 2 September.

Two other men, aged 38 and 33, were also arrested and subsequently released on bail until 28 and 29 October respectively.

Nina Mercer, 42, of Gun Lane, who was previously charged with murder on 29 July, remains on remand.

She has a trial date fixed for 10 February 2025.
