A number of beach cleaning boards have been set up across Jersey, the government has announced.

Officials said the boards, which were created by La Moye Prison, are part of a joint project between Plastic Free Jersey, Surfers Against Sewage and the government's Climate Change Engagement team.

The boards have been set up at eight different locations and are equipped with reusable bags and litter-picking arms for beach-goers to use, officials said.

The government said the boards would be looked after by local businesses.
