Two men have been taken to hospital after suffering injuries in a street attack in Grimsby.

Emergency services were called to Sixhills Street after the two men had reportedly been assaulted following an altercation at 15:30 GMT on Tuesday, Humberside Police said.

A 33-year-old man was found with slash wounds to his leg and injuries to his hand. The other injured man was 30 years old.

Three men are believed to have fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived, the force added.

A police cordon was put in place while officers carried out inquiries to establish what had happened.

Det Insp Jayne Coutts said: "Understandably, given the nature of this incident, it will be concerning to the local community.

"However, as part of our inquiries carried out so far, we do believe this to be an incident between people known to each other."

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or has any CCTV or dashcam footage which could help with inquiries i surged to contact Humberside Police.
