Pedestrian hit by lorry flown to UK hospital

A pedestrian has been flown to hospital in Southampton after being hit by a lorry, police have said.

Guernsey Police was called to the incident in Route Des Laurens, Torteval, at about 07:30 GMT on Monday.

The force said the man was initially taken to Guernsey hospital before being flown to the UK with "serious injuries" on Monday evening.

Police said the road had been closed while specialist officers carried out a collision investigation.

Witnesses to the crash have been asked to contact the police.
