An 18-year-old Chinese student was taken to hospital with facial injuries after being attacked in a racially aggravated assault, police have said.
The victim was alone when she was attacked in Rupert Street, Bristol, between 19:40 and 20:00 BST on 27 September. She was taken to hospital before being discharged to recover at home.
Avon and Somerset Police has released CCTV of a woman they are looking to identify after the incident.
Det Con Georgia Pearce, officer in the case, said: "This is an appalling incident which has caused distress and upset for the victim and her family, and a full investigation is under way."

The officer in charge of the case described the incident as 'appalling'
Police are attempting to track down a white woman, estimated to be in her 20s, with blue hair.
She was wearing a dark designer jacket with a black logo on the left sleeve, over a blue hooded top, with black trousers and white Crocs-style shoes.
A force spokesperson said officers had maintained contact with the victim and had worked with students and staff to help address concerns.
Det Con Pearce added: "Bristol is generally a safe place to live, work and study, but we will not tolerate hate crime, which we urge people to report."
Anyone who recognises the woman has been asked to contact police.
