Two men have pleaded guilty to the murder of a 34-year-old man eight weeks into their trial.

Ryan Burton, from Corby, Northamptonshire, died in hospital on 16 January - six days after being assaulted in Spring Rise Park, near Highfield Road, Kettering.

Keiton Underwood and Ace Hill were among six people standing trial for Mr Burton's murder and a separate offence of robbery at Northampton Crown Court, with the trial having started in early October.

But on Friday, 20-year-old Underwood and 19-year-old Hill changed their pleas on both counts to guilty.

Hill, of Minden Close, Corby, and Underwood, of Bridge Street, Desborough, are due to be sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on 22 December.

The trial continues for the four remaining defendants.

They are Cameron Williams-Ferguson, 24, from Kettering, Connor White, 25 from Rothwell, Kyle Derek McSkimming, 23, from Corby and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons.
