A shopping arcade in Lancaster city centre was sealed off by police after reports of a suspicious package being found.

The alarm was raised at St Nicholas Arcade at about 06:30 BST on Monday, with a police cordon in place around Lancaster Gate.

Lancashire Police later said an explosives disposal team had attended and carried out a controlled explosion after the package was found to be "no threat".

The cordon was removed and roads in the area have since reopened.
