A boy has appeared in court accused of five canal towpath robberies in Wolverhampton.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named due to his age, was arrested in the city centre on Friday.

Police have been investigating robberies in the All Saints and Horseley Fields areas, with some involving threats being made with a weapon.

The teenager appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court charged with five counts of robbery.

He was remanded on conditional bail ahead of his next court appearance set for 7 May.
