Deputy Yvonne Burford is set to be proposed for the vacancy on Guernsey’s top political committee.
It follows the resignation of Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq from Policy and Resources (P&R) after he was charged with making more than 1,000 indecent images of children.
Deputies Marc Lainé, Chris Blin, Jayne Ozanne and David Goy had also expressed an interest in the vacancy and could stand from the floor.
The election is set to take place on 25 September.
Burford finished second in June‘s general election and was elected as the president of the Development and Planning Authority (DPA).
If she is elected to P&R, a new president of the DPA will need to be chosen to replace her.
President of P&R, Lindsay de Sausmarez, previously said Deputy Lainé had been appointed as Digital Transformation Advisor to P&R.
