Eight new buses have been introduced to help improve customers' experiences around Maidenhead, Ascot and Windsor, a bus operator has said.

Thames Valley Buses said the Alexander Dennis single-deck buses were first introduced on Monday.

They are being used on the 1/1A route through Windsor Great Park between Dedworth, Windsor and Ascot, the 7 route from Maidenhead to Woodlands Park and the 16 route between Maidenhead and Windsor.

The buses are also being used on the 227 route between Maidenhead, Waltham St Lawrence and Twyford and the 228 route between Maidenhead, Hurley and Henley.

"This significant investment follows the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead's revamp of financially supported services in April this year that saw routes enhanced following public consultation," Simon Fisher, Thames Valley Buses' general manager, said.

"Our new vehicles go above and beyond the minimum requirement to demonstrate how serious we are about working together to transform customer journeys and encourage more people to choose the bus."
