An 18-year-old killed in a motorbike crash was a "force of nature" who was a "fierce protector", his family has said.

Lancashire Police said Patrick Sawicki "had come off his motorbike" in the crash on Navigation Way, Preston, just before 16:00 GMT on Sunday and died at the scene.

In a statement, his family said: "At 18, Patrick lived more in his years than most could hope for in a lifetime."

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has footage of it to come forward.

His family added: "[Patrick] leaves behind a tapestry of beautiful memories and stories that will continue to inspire his family and friends.

"Fierce protector of his friends against bullies and amazing brother to his siblings, he was one of a kind.

"Immensely passionate about motorsports, cars, motorbikes or anything to do with mechanics, he died doing what he loved most. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him."
