Donald Anderson snapped this view of Edinburgh Castle from the poppy field at Liberton.

David Duthie from Kemnay, Aberdeenshire, said: "My wife and I were watching the dolphins frolicking in the water at Aberdeen Harbour when suddenly a little weasel's head popped out of the broken concrete of the old pier."

Mark Grierson paid a first visit to the elegant Leaderfoot Viaduct crossing the River Tweed.

Greenery by the southern shore of Loch Ailort during the yellow weather warning for rain. Colin Bourhill from Alexandria said: "It could be mistaken for a rainforest in the tropics - apart from the temperature of 11C."

Grant Torode from Dundee took this shot of a man preparing for a boat trip at Crail Harbour on film.

"Striking Cinnabar moth caterpillars spotted in Musselburgh," said Emma Legge.

Elena Reid took this picture of a pretty field in Strathpeffer. She said: "The beautiful purple colour of the plants, the aroma and the bees buzzing - it was so lovely."

Lawrie Mcinally snapped a dramatic rain shower over Glasgow.

Lee Cassidy from Stevenson photographed Davaar Island lighthouse with the Isle of Arran in the distance while on holiday in the Kintyre peninsula.

Dramatic clouds over Craigmaddie Reservoir in Milngavie. Peter Maciver said: "Finally got to see the noctilucent clouds again. Another amazing display, and worth losing sleep over. They stayed out until first light."

Trish Amy spotted deer munching on the grass in a paddock in Newburgh.

Thomas Huettemann, from County Down, said: "While driving from Gairloch to Ullapool on a family holiday, we came across this view of Gruinard beach and its magnificent mountain backdrop. Absolutely magical landscape!"
