A search is under way for the winner of a lottery ticket worth £1m that was bought in Birmingham and remains unclaimed.

The winning numbers were selected for the Lotto draw on 24 May and the winner now only has until 20 November to come forward.

The ticket matched five main of the numbers 12, 13, 26, 38, and 40, with the bonus ball being 4. Alongside the Lotto ticket, there are also EuroMillions UK prizes to be claimed in Birmingham.

Andy Carter, of Allwyn, the lottery-led entertainment firm, said: "Tell your friends, speak to your colleagues, and ask your family, anyone you know who plays Lotto, to double-check their tickets," he said.

"It might trigger a memory of playing, or remind them of where they put a ticket back in May for safe keeping."

Mr Carter said the lottery team would be out in Birmingham to try to find the winners.

Also referring to the unclaimed EuroMillions UK prizes, he said: "Come on Birmingham, we're searching for our winners, and the deadline is close, but there are two of you out there and we need you to come forward," Mr Carter added.

Ticket holders have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize.
