Attempted murder charge after woman hurt in fire

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was hurt in a fire.

Reece Brivitt, 31, was also charged with criminal damage - recklessly endangering life, following the blaze in Stafford on Wednesday.

The woman, in her 40s, was taken to hospital after she was hurt in the fire, which broke out on the sixth floor of a block of flats on Milton Grove at about 04:30 BST.

Mr Brivitt, from Stafford, was remanded into custody and was due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday, Staffordshire Police said.
