A 48-year-old man who was dragged from his mobility scooter and attacked has died three weeks later, police have said.

Police were called to Deepdale Avenue in Middlesbrough, near to the junction with Grassington Road, on the evening of 18 April.

Cleveland Police said suspects got out of a black BMW and assaulted the man, pulling him from his mobility scooter and knocking him unconscious.

A spokesperson confirmed following a short illness, the victim died on 9 May and asked the public to come forward with any information about the attack.
