Murder suspects appear in court after man dies

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 30-year-old man in a residential street.

A member of the public found Kieran Shepherd unresponsive in Meadgate Avenue, in Great Baddow, Essex, on 15 October, Chelmsford Magistrates' Court was told.

Joseph Dawe, 20, of Greenland Gardens, Great Baddow, and Zack O'Keeffe, 19, of Stafford Green, Langdon Hills, were remanded into custody and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday.

Harrison Carpenter, 19, of Ben Wilson Link, Springfield, appeared before magistrates on Saturday in connection with the incident and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday.

Mr Dawe and Mr O'Keeffe spoke only to confirm their names, dates of births, and addresses, and were not asked to enter a plea for one charge of murder each.

Mr Shepherd's family have described him as a "kind and loving son, brother and father".

A statement read: "Our lives will never be the same without him; he will be forever in our hearts.

"His loss has left a massive hole in the lives of his family and friends."
