Man in hospital after assault in Trowbridge

A man in his 30s was assaulted in Trowbridge, police said

A man needed hospital treatment for his injuries and two people were arrested following a serious assault in Trowbridge in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The victim, in his 30s, was reportedly assaulted about 01:30 BST, following an altercation in an alleyway near Castle Street in Trowbridge, Wiltshire Police said.

A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

They remain in custody for questioning.

Police said the incident was thought to be isolated with the involved parties known to each other.

Anyone who witnessed the assault has been asked to contact the force.
