A dance group from Jersey is offering free workshops, masterclasses and performances at care homes in Guernsey.

Ballet D'Jerri said it wanted to mirror its commitment to "building community through art" in Jersey at its neighbouring island in December.

Carolyn Ramsay, Ballet D'Jerri's artistic director, said she was looking forward to dancing in Guernsey after previously performing on the island in March.

She said: "We've always had a wonderful reception from our Guernsey audience and it does really make it feel as if we are sister islands."

Company manager Estelle Le Brun said its outreach work in Jersey had "such a genuine impact".

"Being able to do a bit of the same in Guernsey brings us closer together as Channel Islands," she said.

The company will be in Guernsey on 17 and 18 December and the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts said all dance schools in the island had been sent a link to sign up to the free events.
