Two charged with violent disorder and assault

Two more people have been charged over disorder that broke out in Staffordshire amid a wave of unrest in the UK.
James Watkins, 35, of Stoke-on-Trent, appeared before magistrates on 28 August charged with violent disorder and assault by beating of an emergency worker.
Marcus Ramsden, 22, also of Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with violent disorder and common assault of an emergency worker.
Mr Ramsden was remanded in custody on 24 August to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 9 September, and Mr Watkins was remanded to appear at the same court on 11 September.
Staffordshire Police said officers had now arrested 64 people over disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August and in Tamworth the following day.
It happened as riots and anti-immigration protests took place across the UK at the beginning of August.
The unrest followed the fatal stabbings of three girls in Southport in July, and was fuelled by false online rumours online that the suspect in the killings was an asylum seeker.
