Two men have appeared in court charged with the sexual assault of a woman in Clydebank.

Police were called to a car park next to The Crescent in Dalmuir at about 20:20 on Saturday after members of the public raised the alarm.

Oleh Hichka, 37, and Dimitrii Hitchka, 35, both of Clydebank, were charged with assault with intent to rape when they appeared before Dumbarton Sheriff Court.

Both made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.

Det Insp Craig Bate thanked people who came forward to assist with the inquiry.

He said: "I would like to reassure the community that additional patrols are being carried out and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to officers."
