Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Surrey.

Richard Flower, 38, appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court on Monday, and has been remanded in custody.

Officers were called to an address in Kenyngton Drive, Sunbury-on-Thames, at about 06:00 BST on Sunday.

A woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition, Surrey Police said at the time.

She has since been discharged and is recovering at home, according to Surrey Police.

Mr Flower, of Kenyngton Drive, is due to next appear in Guildford Crown Court on 26 September.
