A person riding an e-scooter attacked and attempted to mug a cyclist on a river towpath in Oxford.

The woman was cycling along the River Thames towpath from Kennington Road to Folly Bridge at about 14:30 GMT on 8 November when a man with an e-scooter blocked her way and signalled for her to stop.

The offender, described by police as an Asian man aged in his 30s or 40s with a skinny build, then grabbed her in an attempt to take her belongings.

The female cyclist kicked the man before managing to escape, Thames Valley Police said.

Nothing was stolen during the incident and the victim was not injured, the force added.

The attacker was believed to be between 6ft (1.8m) and 6ft 2in (1.88m) tall and was wearing a black coat, black jeans and was on a black e-scooter at the time of the incident.

Thames Valley Police has called for anyone with any information in connection with the incident to contact the force.
