A 21-year-old man has admitted posting a threatening video aimed towards pupils and staff at a college in Merthyr Tydfil.

Oliver Beynon, from Fochriw in Caerphilly, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court earlier, where he pleaded guilty to the charge of sending communication threatening death or serious harm.

He will be sentenced on 16 December.

In a previous hearing, prosecutors told the court that the video, which has been viewed 2,500 times on YouTube, contained "graphic detail" of threats to kill towards people attending The College Merthyr Tydfil.

South Wales Police were made aware of the video on 31 August, which led to Beynon being arrested shortly after.

In a statement released after the arrest, the college confirmed it opened for the first day of the new term on 1 September "following a thorough review and assessment of the safety of staff, learners and building users".
