Dozens punished in a day for worst lakeside parking

It was some of the worst parking officers had seen in the Wastwater area, Cumbria Police said

Sixty-four parking offences were recorded in a single afternoon at a scenic tourist spot in the Lake District, police have said.
Cumbria Police said it had issued the "traffic offence reports" to drivers parked inappropriately alongside Wastwater on Saturday.
A force spokesperson said it was "some of the worst parking the officers had seen in the area" and it was a "good job" emergency services hadn't needed to access Wasdale Head.
That section of road is a clearway and therefore no vehicles should be parked on it, the spokesperson added.
A plea for people to be considerate when visiting the area was posted on the Copeland Police Facebook page, external.
