About 150 bags of building waste, including asbestos, have been dumped in Cornwall.

Cornwall Council said the rubbish was believed to have been "illegally dumped" near Golitha Falls in the East Dozmary area near Liskeard at the weekend.

"We are arranging for specialist contractors to clear the area," it said.

"This is a serious environmental crime and we are asking for the public’s help to track down those responsible," it said.

The council has asked anybody with information to get in touch with them.
