A fourth person has been charged with attempted murder after a man was found stabbed in a playground.

A 34-year-old man was discovered injured in Harwoods Recreation Ground in Watford on 12 October and police say he is still in hospital.

The 17-year-old male suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is from Smethwick near Birmingham.

Detectives said the alleged attack was being treated as targeted, and they believed the four suspects knew each other.

The three other males, aged 17 and 16 and from Smethwick and Oldbury - also near Birmingham - have been charged with the same offence.

The two 16-year-old boys also face charges of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

Three of the boys appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Thursday, and were remanded in custody to appear in court again on 13 November.
