Woman, 79, dies 10 days after car crash

A 79-year-old woman has died in hospital 10 days after a car crash in Aberdeenshire.

Wilma Porter was driving a black Kia Ceed on the A92 near Gordoun when she was involved in a crash with a blue Ford Focus.

The smash happened at 11:45 on Monday 9 December.

Ms Porter, from Montrose in Angus, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment but died on Thursday.

Her family thanked the emergency services and hospital staff for their "continued efforts throughout this difficult time".

Police Scotland's Sgt Pete Henderson said: "Our thoughts are with Wilma's family and friends and those affected by the crash at this difficult time.

"Inquiries into the crash are ongoing and we ask anyone with information, who has yet to come forward, to contact us, external."
