Biker dies following crash on A9 in Caithness

A man has died after his motorbike was involved in a crash on the A9 near Latheron in Caithness.
Lorne MacMillan, from Arisaig, was riding a black motorbike that was in collision with a grey Peugeot car about two miles north of Latheron at 09:50 on Sunday 10 August.
Mr MacMillan was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he died two weeks later on Monday.
The driver and passenger of the car were taken to hospital as a precaution and later released. A woman was arrested and charged in connection with a road traffic offence and will appear in court at a later date.
Mr MacMillan's family said they were "devastated" by his death.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, they said: "He was a best friend and partner, dad, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many more.
"Our hearts will never heal. We request that you respect our privacy as we are forced to accept that our lives have changed forever. We love you forever our darling boy."
