E-bike rider in critical condition after crash

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash between an e-bike and a car.

A 36-year-old man, who was riding the e-bike, remains in a critical condition with injuries to his head and legs after the collision in Grimsby at about 22:20 BST on Saturday.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

The crash, involving the e-bike and a black saloon car occurred at the junction of Grimsby Road and Elliston Street.

Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed to traffic until Sunday afternoon.

Det Insp Tom Kelly said residents should expect to see an "ongoing police presence in and around the area over the coming days".

He added: "Officers have conducted extensive CCTV, forensic and house to house enquiries but we are continuing to establish the full circumstances.

"We would urge anyone with any information or concerns to please speak to officers while they are out and about."
