New and expanded school nurseries for South East

There will be roughly 460 new childcare places created across Kent, Surrey and Sussex, according to government figures

Nearly two dozen primary schools in the South East will get new or expanded on-site nurseries under a £37m government scheme.
Schools in England were invited to apply for funding to create new nurseries or add additional places at their current offerings.
A total of 23 schools across Kent, Surrey and Sussex have been awarded funds.

Overall, there are 300 schools across England creating new or expanded nurseries under the scheme.
It comes as the government recently announced the rollout of 30 government-funded hours of childcare from September, which it said would save parents up to £7,500 on average.
