The UK saw its hottest day of the year so far on Monday, with temperatures hitting 34.8C (95F) in Cambridge, according to the Met Office.

The higher temperatures were confined to central and southern England, and yellow heat health alerts are in place for millions of people.

Some places in the south, including Shoreham airport and the Southampton Oceanography Centre, recorded tropical nights on Sunday night - where the temperature does not drop below 20C overnight.

BBC Weather Watchers shared their snaps of the weather across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and Dorset.
