Four people have been arrested after a man was attacked in a skate park and left with serious head injuries.

Police said the man, 20, was treated in hospital after the attack on Penn Road, Wolverhampton, on 9 August, and discharged.

A girl aged 17, and three men who are 18, 22 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and bailed, West Midlands Police added.

Officers said they were aware of speculation on social media and that a video of the attack had been shared, but said: "There is no evidence at this stage of any racial motivation for the attack."

The force is liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service over charges.
