The body of Kevin Price, 59, who lived at the address, was found inside, with police saying he had "suffered a number of stab wounds".

Det Ch Insp Simon Pritchard said: "A murder investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing. I would appeal to anyone who can help us to get in touch."

He added: “I am especially keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around The Garfield Hotel on Springfield Road between Thursday last week and Sunday."

Det Ch Insp Pritchard said his "thoughts are with Kevin Price’s loved ones at this time".
