A man who targeted vulnerable women in an attempt to abuse their sons has been jailed.

David Miller, 44, of Hervey Street, Ipswich was sentenced on Thursday to 21 years in prison following an nine-day trial at Ipswich Crown Court.

He had pleaded not guilty to a series of sexual offences before a jury found him guilty unanimously on all 16 counts on 14 May.

Investigation officer Det Con Michael Florey said he was "extremely proud" of the victims and witnesses in the case.

"Without their support Miller would be free to continue abusing young boys," he added.

"Because Miler had pleaded not guilty, the victims and their families had to endure a week of extremely distressing evidence being heard.

"I would like to pay tribute to the strength of character and courage shown by all involved."

Miller was first arrested in October 2020 and following an investigation he was charged in October 2022.

He was charged with 16 offences including rape, indecent assault, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual activity with a child.
