A total of 10 people were arrested across the Epsom Derby festival weekend, according to Surrey Police.

Eight men and two boys aged between 15 and 65 from London, Surrey and East Sussex were arrested.

Offences included drunk and disorderly, affray, assault on emergency workers, possession of Class A drugs and sexual assault.

The 245th annual two-day event took place at Epsom Downs Racecourse on Friday and Saturday.

This year's festival marked the 25th large-scale policing operation at the event for Surrey Police.

The force said a number of "specialist teams" were involved and praised the success of the operation.

Following the event, Ch Supt Graham Barnett said: "No two years are the same, but every year our teams work tirelessly to make sure that we are preventing and responding to crime and anti-social behaviour."

He added that he was "proud of, and would like to thank, every officer, member of staff and volunteer" involved in working to protect the public.
