Boy, 17, arrested after woman stabbed in Brighton

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Brighton.

The 37-year-old woman was found when police were called to a disturbance in Church Place, at its junction with Manor Road, on Saturday at about 18:30 BST.

She was taken to hospital, where her condition has been described as not life threatening or life changing.

A 38-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, Sussex Police said.

Det Insp Jenny Pietersen said she could "understand the community’s concern" but said it was "an isolated incident" which posed "no threat to the wider public”.
