Actress returns home for Derbyshire-set comedy

A new Channel 4 comedy filmed in the Derbyshire town of Wirksworth has made its debut.
Peaked was written by and stars Ada Player, who grew up in the town.
Filming took place in September at locations including The Lime Kiln pub, a local shop and the town centre
Ms Player said the 16-minute short was partly inspired by another Channel 4 comedy, Peep Show.

"It is about two friends in their mid-twenties who have peaked too soon," she said.
"Their best years were their teenage years and they are still clinging on to that teenage dream.
"They are living with their parents and bickering a lot and fancying the same boy."
Ele McKenzie and Freddie Meredith also star in the comedy, set in the fictional town of Welworth.

Ms Player said she was inspired by the Channel 4 comedy Peep Show, which features Matlock actress Isy Suttie as Dobby.
"To release this into the world and have a nice reaction has been absolutely lovely," she said.
Channel 4's head of comedy Charlie Perkins said he hoped the comedy could lead to more opportunities for its creator.
He said: "I really believe in the power of making short-form comedy, something will always come out of it.
"That could be a TV series, sure, but it could also be a million other brilliant things- from a new creative partnership that lasts a career, to an extra skill learned, to a piece of published work you are proud of that helps showcase what you do best."
