A League One club has released images of what a long-awaited new stand could look like once it has been finished.

Northampton Town's East Stand has remained incomplete since construction work stopped in 2014 due to a contractual dispute.

Plans outline that finished work would increase stadium capacity to more than 8,200 and give the club its first pitch-facing hospitality with executive boxes.

More parking spaces, new dining areas, and the return of the accessible viewing platform for supporters who use wheelchairs, have also been included.

The club formally completed a deal to allow it to finish work after West Northamptonshire Council agreed to sell land to the club in February.

Cobblers chairman Kelvin Thomas previously stated he hoped work on the stand would be completed by 2026.

Completion is now expected in the first quarter of 2025.

The new East Stand will see the installation of a new link road around the stadium, and concourse area with kiosks and screens.

A club spokesperson said there would be an open forum, in association with the It's All Cobblers To Me podcast, to discuss the plans.

They said: "Chairman Kelvin Thomas and supporters elected representative Tom Cliffe will be on hand to discuss the new East Stand plans and answer questions on any subject from supporters.

"All supporters are welcome, admission is free and for those unable to attend, the event will be recorded and played out as a podcast in the days following the meeting."

The open forum will take place at 19.00 BST on Thursday 25 April, in the Tollers Solicitors 1897 Suite at Sixfields.
