Two men have appeared in court on kidnap charges after another man reported being bundled into the boot of a car.

West Midlands Police said the incident took place on Russell Street in Wolverhampton last month.

Syed Hassan, 26, and Zain Ali, 30, are both charged with kidnap and appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court at the weekend.

Police said Mr Hassan also faced separate charges over an incident on Farndale Avenue, Wolverhampton, in 2022 in which a man was attacked with a crossbow and left with serious facial injuries.

Mr Hassan has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and wounding with intent in relation.

Mr Hassan and Mr Ali have not yet entered pleas on any of the charges.

They were remanded and due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 28 May, police said.
