Flood barriers have been set up next to a Worcestershire river because of concerns over rising water levels.

The Environment Agency confirmed it was erecting them at the River Severn on Severn Side, Bewdley, following heavy rainfall.

Further rain was forecast over the next few days, Barry Killner, from the agency, said on X, external.

A flood alert was issued for the river in Bewdley which said flooding was expected to affect low-lying land.
