Teenage girl dies after being hit by car

The girl died in hospital following the collision in Telford

A teenage girl has died after she was hit by a car.

The 15-year-old was struck by the vehicle on West Centre Way, Telford, Shropshire, at about 17:15 GMT on Tuesday.

The Telford Park School pupil was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where she later died, the ambulance service said.

West Mercia Police said no arrests have been made and their inquiries into the crash were ongoing.

The girl's school said: "We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the young person who has passed away, and will be supporting the school at this difficult time.”
