A group of anonymous yarn bombers have decorated Brigg town centre with colourful creations.

Bollards, benches and even the bandstand have been covered with the detailed knitted and crocheted designs.

The Undercover Yarners first started brightening up Brigg in 2022.

Traders said the town was lucky to have them and said it was good for business.

"It's the detail that I love looking at as you wander around," said Nick Webb, owner of independent bookshop, The Rabbit Hole.

"I think one of the photos that I took first was the little Spiderman and it's just amazing," he said. "It's a delight to see and everyone loves it."

Business owners said they had seen an increase in the number of visitors to Brigg

Danielle Maguire from Greens on Wheels said she first noticed the "amazing" display in the morning when a hanging basket appeared outside her shop.

"It helps the businesses in town because obviously it's difficult for them at the minute, people are struggling," she said.

"These mystery yarners, hopefully, will bring more people in, because they like to come and visit them and take pictures and selfies."

Mr Webb said he was amazed at the "time and effort" the yarn bombers put in.

"I think they like the idea of being a community group without people knowing who they all are," he said.

"Knowing that there are people out there that want to just help everyone for no reward is amazing."

The display will be in place for the next week.
