Biker seriously injured in town centre crash

A motorcyclist who crashed while riding through Skipton town centre was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, police have said.

The rider, a man in his 30s, crashed near the Bay Horse pub on Keighley Road at about 19:10 BST on Tuesday, North Yorkshire Police said.

He was believed to have been driving his blue Honda bike "at speed" through the town centre, a force spokesperson added.

The road was closed until 00:30 BST on Wednesday while investigation work was carried out.
