A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead at an industrial estate.

Tanveer Singh, 31, from West Bromwich, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Thursday, charged with the murder of Shara Miller in Smethwick, in the West Midlands.

He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday.

Ms Miller, 41, was found off Woodburn Road just after 06:10 BST on Monday and confirmed dead at the scene. Police said a post-mortem examination revealed she was strangled.

A police spokesperson said they believed Ms Miller was killed in the early hours of the morning at the place where her body was found.
