Two men who held two women at gunpoint before robbing their home in Sandbanks have been jailed.

Ashley Fulton and Aaron Evans, both 42, posed as police officers, forcing their way into the property in Poole on 21 February last year.

Fulton was handed a life sentence and must serve at least nine years and 192 days.

Evans was jailed for 12 years with an extended licence period of a further four years.

Dorset Police said one of the women was tied up during the ordeal and the second, who arrived home while the robbery was under way, was dragged inside and threatened.

Both victims were assaulted before being shut in the bathroom, police said.

The men escaped with jewellery and the victims' mobile phones.

Detectives said Evans was arrested in Merseyside in April 2023.

Fulton was arrested at a hotel next to Heathrow Airport on 14 May 2023, with his partner, Lacey Langton.

Police said Langton had fraudulently obtained a passport for Fulton under a false name and they planned to travel to Morocco.

Det Insp Shaun Inkpen said: "This was an extremely distressing incident where the victims were put through a terrifying ordeal within their own home.

"I would like to express my thanks to them both as they have displayed immense courage and bravery throughout our investigation."

Fulton, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Wednesday, after admitting two counts of robbery, possession of an imitation firearm while committing a schedule one offence, along with a number of fraud-related offences.

Evans, from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, was jailed on 23 September, having admitted two counts of robbery and possession of an imitation firearm while committing a schedule one offence.

Langton, 24, from Wareham, previously admitted perverting the course of justice and possession of an identity document with improper intention.

She was jailed for 14 months by the same court on 24 September.
