Man charged after assault and fire in Cambuslang

A 34-year-old man has been charged after an incident in South Lanarkshire where two women were assaulted.
Police were called to Mill Road in Cambuslang just after 16:00 on Thursday.
Two women, aged 16 and 41, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment and later released.
Firefighters were also called to a fire at the property and surrounding homes were evacuated.
Det Insp Gary Smillie said: "I would again like to extend my thanks to nearby residents who were impacted by this incident for their patience and co-operation and the other emergency services for their support."
