Teenagers seriously injured in ambulance crash

Two teenagers were seriously injured when a car crashed with an ambulance.

Cheshire Police was called at about 17:15 GMT on Saturday to Tottys Hall Way, Crewe, near Leighton Hospital, where a Ford Fiesta had crashed with a vehicle carrying out a non-emergency transport of a patient.

The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man from Sandbach and one of the passengers, a 19-year-old man from Winsford, are receiving hospital treatment.

Two other passengers from the Fiesta were also hurt in the crash, while the patient in the ambulance sustained minor injuries.

Cheshire Police said inquiries into the crash were ongoing.
